Solid surface as the name implies is "solid" meaning the color or pattern you choose goes all the way through the sheet, this one characteristic makes it far more easy to repair minor scratches or burns to more severe cracks or chips where they are not noticable compared to most other countertop materials.

Maintenance Tips
Removing Dirt & Residue
Use soapy water or an ammonia-based cleaner. Rinse and wipe dry.
Preventing Hard Water Marks
Wipe surfaces dry immediately after spills or cleaning. Ordinary vinegar removes most dried water spots.
Preventing Heat Damage
Always use trivets or hot pads under hot objects. Prolonged or extreme heat can cause discoloring. Also, allow cookware to cool before placing in a solid-surface sink.
Disinfecting
Wipe surfaces with mixture of one part water / one part household bleach. Rinse with clear water and wipe dry.
Cleaning Sinks & Lavatories
Just as you clean your countertops, use Soft Scrub™ liquid cleanser and a green Scotch-Brite™ pad. Rub over the entire sink to blend in the finish.
For Minor Cuts and Scratches
No worries — your solid surface countertop is renewable. Please call or contact your fabricator/installer for further assistance.
Removing Stubborn Stains
Use a mixture of one part water / one part household bleach or a liquid cleanser such as Soft Scrub® with Bleach. Rinse with clear water and wipe dry. If you happen to spill red wine on your countertops, don’t stress. The spill can easily be cleaned up with denatured alcohol & a cotton rag, using a circular wiping motion. Avoid strong acidic products such as toilet or oven cleaners.
Additional Preventive Measures
Prevent other damage by not exposing your countertop to strong chemicals, such as paint removers, oven cleaners, etc. If contact does occur, rinse immediately and thoroughly with clear water.
If you spill nail polish on a LivingStone Surface, remove it with a non-acetone polish remover.

Always run your faucet while pouring boiling water down solid surface sinks
